Affiliate Internet Marketing: Are All Copy-Writers Shameless?

Why do I have the feeling that I am going to live to regret writing and publishing this article? Two things, I have to admit, one is that as far as affiliate Internet marketing goes, I have lost my objectivity. What I mean by that, is a year or so ago, I would not have even ready some of the hype that I have now read most of from start to finish. “How to Make $99,871.00 per Week, Working 2.8 Minutes per Day.” “This System Never Fails, Only the People Who Buy it Do.” I don’t think that is an exact quote. I think this is what they call aggressive internet marketing.

Like I said, are these Copy-Writers shameless. I read an eBook about a year ago by a famous real estate investment author that chronicles every step he made to accomplishes what he says is making $100,000 in 24 hours online or something like that. After sending out several emails saying things like, “You have to be here Wednesday night, when we reveal our special once in a life time supper extreme mega mania secret offer that you will only hear about if you are sitting at your computer ready to read the email prior to the 15 min self destruct sequence which timer begins upon pressing the send button on my computer.”

Did I mention that he had all the people send in their social security numbers prior to sending out any offers with a financial summary of available cash and estimated non collateral dept availability? He wanted to make sure the offers did not leave any money in the wrong hands…lol

The main point I had against this particular book was that he tells you what his total sales were, but he seems to forget, that he was going to have to pay for all of the seminars and other bonuses that he threw in but had still not even arranged. Last I heard, it still coast a lot of money to get a space, book speakers, and all the things that are required to put on a seminar.

I guess I can’t be too cynical about all of this; it really is no different than the rags of gossip being sold at the checkout line at the super market. The reason they are there, is because lots and lots of people buy them. I guess the difference is that what they write in the gossip columns is at least plausible, unlike the ads for affiliate Internet marketing.

What about this one, does anyone really think they are only going to sell 57 of these at this price? If so, does any of those people really believe that the 57 crossed out with the number 19 next to it is really how many sold since they read the first page? I was pretty sure it had to be true, until one time my computer suddenly shut down in the middle of the process, and when I finally got to my friends computer the next day and pulled up the offer so I could still try and get it, the ad still said only 57 and the second page still said 19???

The reason that I say I am probably going to regret writing this is, before I had my Son, I was one of those people that said, “When I have children, I am never going to…” I can say with full discloser, that everything I said to finish that sentence, I have not only done that with my own son, but probably a lot worse. Yes, after I gave him his first McDonalds French Fries, he refused to ever eat a green vegetable again. What is in those things?

My point is, I am sure it won’t be long before, I will have an offer for my list that is exclusive and limited in number or some other artificial circumstance to create a sense of urgency. But for now, I am still on the side of the parent who says, “I would never let my kid… when I have them.”
